Veronica "Lonnie" V. (Majcher) McCown

Veronica  V. “Lonnie” (Majcher) McCown, age 92, passed away on January 13, 2023 at Morton Hospital.

Veronica was born in Taunton, the beloved daughter of the late Antonio and Tekla (Koval) Majcher.

She moved to South Gate California several years ago where she worked at Safeway in the meat packing department until she retired. She moved back to Berkley, Massachusetts many years ago and currently resided in Raynham, Mass for the past several years.

During her retirement she was a caregiver for several friends.  She was the first to offer her help to anyone.  She was called “the angel” by the many people she helped.   She was a very caring and loving person.  She was loved by anyone whose life she touched.  She loved all animals including her beloved dog Kookie.  She loved cats, owls and feeding the birds and squirrels.

She was the lifelong best friend of Helen (Barkan) Lounsbury.

She leaves several nieces and nephews and very dear friends who genuinely loved her.

She will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to have her in their lives.

She was the sister of the late, Stanley, Walter, Tedfield (Ted), Louis, Bridget, Agnes and Frank.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, January 18, 2023 at 5pm with a funeral service beginning at 6pm in the Chapel of the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary’s Square) Taunton. Additional parking with handicap access is located on the North side of the funeral home.

Her burial will be held privately.
