Thomas A. Mello

Thomas A. Mello, age 79 of Raynham, passed away peacefully in the early hours of April 15, surrounded by his loving family after a long courageous battle with ESRD. 

Tom was born on September 23, 1943, the son of the late Manuel and Eleanor (Marshall) Mello. He was the longtime husband of Annette L. (Deschamps) Mello. 

In addition to his beloved wife Annette, he is survived by his children; Norma Silva and husband Richard of Dighton, Nancy Galuski and husband James of South Carolina, Thomas Mello of Taunton, Cynthia Vieira and husband Richard of Naples, Florida, and Russell Burdick, Jr. of Taunton, He is survived by 7 grandchildren; Ryann Bonilla and husband Steven, Meghan Lourenco and husband Ron, Chelsea Galuski, Austin Ferreira, Grace Karolczuk, Parker Burdick, and Hannah Burdick, as well as 7 great-grandchildren; Hayden, Ryder, Alex, Orion, Mela, Rhea and Alexa.  They knew and loved him simply as Grampy! 

He is survived by his siblings; Lois Bristol and husband Ronald of Vermont, Brenda Gouvia of East Taunton and Donald Mello and wife Cindy of Taunton. Thomas was the brother of the late David Mello, Ronald Mello and Jeanette Rose.

He worked for years as a commercial truck driver, and continued to drive many years after retiring, as he and the love of his life Annette, traveled around the country.  They shared many miles and many a great-adventures together.  Annette loves to share innumerable stories of their travels together, which often include laughter and many memories made with their children and grandchildren.  Tom also enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing and in the later years, avidly studying his trail camera perched behind his home.

A Memorial and A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, June 2, 2023 at the Middleboro Elks from 11am to 4pm.
