Sandra (Marston) Mathieu

Sandra (Marston) Mathieu, age 73 of Dighton, passed away on November 15, 2023 at St. Anne’s Hospital.

She is survived by David Mathieu, her husband of 52 years.

Born in Taunton, MA she was the daughter of the late Edward and Agnes (Matteson) Marston.

She was loved for her ability and propensity to dispense her own personal brand of wisdom. Having grown up on a farm, she could be commonly found surrounded by her cultivation of paperback books that she had consumed a good portion of.

It is rumored that in the 80’s, she single handedly funded the continuation of the instant coffee market, as she believed that normal coffee makers were for commoners to try to emulate the high class world that Folgers inhabited.

Besides her beloved husband David, she is survived by her loving sons: Brian Mathieu and his wife Colleen of Buckeye, AZ, Bruce Mathieu and his wife Brenda-Lee of Somerset, Brad Mathieu, of Dighton; her brother, Michael Marston of Smithfield, RI, and sister, Maureen Sypher of Raynham, 8 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Joan Rose, Virginia Eldridge, and Edward Marston Jr.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, November 19, 2023 at the American Legion Post 303, 73 Ocean Grove Ave, Swansea MA 02777. Cash only bar.

Interment will be held privately.
