Robert A. Baptista

Robert Baptista, age 69, passed away on May 20, 2023 at Morton Hospital.

He was the beloved husband of Sharon (Mendoza) Baptista

Born in Taunton, Robert was the son of the late Alfred and Edith (Pine) Baptista, Sr.

Before retiring, Mr. Baptista was employed with ICF as a Child Welfare Specialist for 14 years.  Prior to that, he was employed with the Department of Children & Families for 31 years.  He dedicated 45 years of his life to Child Welfare.

He enjoyed spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren.  He also loved to travel with his wife Sharon, enjoyed camping and mountain biking, and was unafraid to assist with duties around the house.

Besides his beloved wife Sharon of over 45 years, Robert is survived by his loving sons; Stephen Baptista and wife Chris and David Baptista and wife Cassidy both of Taunton. He was the grandfather of Stefanie, Cody, Emma, Ariana, Evan and Scarlett.

Robert’s funeral will be held on Thursday, May 25,2023 at 9am followed by a funeral service beginning at 10am in the Chapel of the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary’s Square) Taunton.

Interment will follow in the new Saint Francis Cemetery North Walker Street in Taunton.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, May 24th from 4 to 7pm in the Silva Funeral Home.

Additional parking with handicap access is located on the North side of the funeral home.
