Pedro A. Silva

TAUNTON- Pedro Silva, 84, of Taunton, passed away on Thursday, May 11, 2023, at Morton Hospital in Taunton. He was the beloved husband for nearly 60 years to Maria L. (Oliveira) Silva of Taunton.

Born in Sao Miguel, Azores, Pedro was one of three sons born to the late Jose and Maria Da Silva. In 1976 he immigrated to the United States, settling in Taunton.

Pedro was a longtime communicant of St. Anthony Church in Taunton.

A hard-working man with a great work ethic, Pedro worked for nearly 40 years with Dye Craftsman in Taunton. He would set up and prepare the machines that were used to color yarn that would be used in crafting.

In his spare time, Pedro enjoyed gardening, making homemade wine, and going fishing and crabbing. Above all, he cherished the time spent with his family.

In addition to his wife, Pedro is survived by his cherished sons: George Silva and his wife Christina of St. Cloud, FL and Steven Silva and his wife Andrea of Taunton; his 6 grandchildren: Andrea, AJ, Selena, Jacob, Avarie, and Ethan; his brother: Manuel Silva and his wife Theresa of Taunton; and numerous extended family members and friends.

Pedro is predeceased by his dear son: Arthur Silva and brother: Joe Silva.

Mr. Silva’s funeral with visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 17, 2023, at 8:30am from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary’s Square) Taunton, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in Saint Anthony’s Church, School St, Taunton.

Interment will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery.
