Norma P. Longo, of Raynham, MA, passed away peacefully on March 28, 2022 at the Life Care Center in Raynham.
The daughter of the late Everett and Pearl (Woodward) Brune, Norma was born in Taunton on June 21st, 1933, and grew up in Raynham where she was educated and enjoyed a wonderful childhood.
She was the beloved wife of the late Franklin D. Longo, her high-school sweetheart, who pre-deceased her in December of 2017. At the time of his passing, they were weeks away from celebrating their 65th wedding anniversary.
Norma was an elegant, kind, gentle woman with a sweet and loving nature who lived every minute of her life with quiet dignity and grace, always putting her family and others before herself.
She and Frank always made sure that holidays at their home were wonderful and special for their children and grandchildren. Well into their early eighties, they cooked so many delicious dishes and decorated so beautifully, especially at Christmas, that even as adults, we all still felt a child's wonderment upon walking into their home for family celebrations.
Norma relished being a wife, mother, and grandmother; her grandchildren brought her much joy and she loved attending all of their school activities, and dance and music recitals.
She loved music, the ocean, trips to Vermont with her family, summers at Mattapoisett and going sailing with her father Everett.
In later years, Norma became immersed in documenting her family's genealogy, compiling and categorizing documents and photographs; an endeavor she thoroughly enjoyed and excelled at.
Just like our father and grandfather, she will be forever missed by her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her devoted children: Marlene, Therese (John), and Timothy (Mary); her dear brother Jeffrey (Frances), her caring daughter-in-law Carol, and her precious three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Besides her beloved Frankie, Norma was predeceased by her loving daughter Ellen, her cherished son James (Carol), and her adored son-in-law Paul (Marlene).
Private family funeral services will be held at the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton, with internment at the Pleasant St. Cemetery, Raynham, Mass.
