Maria F. (Sousa) Jorge

Maria F. (Sousa) Jorge, age 82 of Taunton, passed away on January 21, 2023 at Marian Manor.

She was the beloved wife of the late Manuel E. Jorge for over 50 years before his passing in 2014.

Maria was born in Faial Azores.

Before retiring, Mrs. Jorge was employed with Texas Instruments as an assembly worker.

She enjoyed her family, church, the Hallmark Channel, sewing, and crocheting.

Maria is survived by her loving children; Edward Jorge and wife Lynne of Taunton, Michael Jorge and wife Barbara of Berkley. She was the grandmother of Kelsey, Kyle, Amber, and Cory, great-grandmother of Jackson . Maria was also the loving mother of the late Steven Jorge and sister of Maria Liduina Aguiar, Maria Leonilda Pereira, Joseph Sousa, and Maria Lourdes Sousa.

Maria’s funeral with visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 25, 2023 at 8am from the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary’s Square) Taunton, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in Saint Anthony Church School Street, Taunton.

Interment will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery.
