TAUNTON- Manuel V. Medeiros, 67, of Taunton, passed away on the evening of Monday, April 24, 2023, after a period of declining health, surrounded by the love, comfort, and care of his dear family at Good Samaritan Hospital in Brockton.
Born in Sao Miguel, Azores, Manuel was one of three sons born to the late Manuel Medeiros, Jr. and Maria C. (Vieira) Medeiros. He was raised and grew up in Sao Miguel. In 1977, he made the decision to immigrate to the United States of America, settling in Taunton, the city he would make his home and raise his three children.
A hardworking man who took pride in a job well done; Manuel was a proud member of Laborer Union Local #876 located in Taunton. Working as a Foreman at various construction sites throughout the Commonwealth, Manuel was well respected and liked by his co-workers for his tremendous work ethic and willingness to help others.
In his spare time, Manuel enjoyed gardening and working on his landscaping business that he had for 30 years.
Manuel is survived by his three cherished children: Barry Medeiros, Michelle Medeiros, and Melanie Medeiros; his three grandchildren: Jocelyn Medeiros, Colton Medeiros, and James Ryan; his brothers: Alvaro Medeiros and Dennis Medeiros; his beloved animals: German Shepherd Benjamin and cats: Lawrence and Sophia; and his 3 nieces, 1 nephew, and extended family members.
Manuel’s funeral with visitation will be held on Friday April 28, 2023, from 4:00 PM-6:00 PM at the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary’s Square) in Taunton. A Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home immediately following the visitation at 6:00 PM.
