Lawrence Daniel Burgo

Lawrence Daniel “Danny” Burgo, 71, passed away on Tuesday, August 22, 2023 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Brockton, MA following a brief illness with his loving family by his side.

He leaves his wife of 43 years, Charlotte “Chicki” Burgo (Johnson-Smith), his stepson Frank “Buster” Henriques and his wife Heather and his stepdaughter, Angel Henriques, along with his 5 grandchildren Tyler and Mariah Machnik, Bryce, Brody and Brooke Henriques and his great grandson Ryder Machnik.

Born and raised in Taunton, the son of the late Flora Burgo and Joseph (JiJi) Andrade and Frank Burgo.

Danny also leaves behind many brothers and sisters, Frank (Frankie) Burgo and wife Rosie, Robert (Butchy) Burgo and wife Linda, Christopher (Christy) Burgo, Bruce (Wayne) Burgo, Flora (Pinky) Burgo, Priscilla Burgo, Joseph (Joe Joe) Burgo and fiance Beverly. Deceased: Maryann (Burgo) Monteiro and husband John (pops), Jean (Burgo) Pina and husband John, Alfred (Freddy) Burgo, John (Poncho) Burgo, James (Jimmy) Burgo and Sherry Burgo and Joao DeBurgo.

Danny was an employee for the City of Taunton (DPW) for 40 years. In his younger years he also tended the bar at the local Weir Village establishments “McGrath’s and Bristol Pub”.

Danny loved spending time in his workshop making his creations over the years. He loved to share his workshop and work on projects with his grandson, Tyler. He was an avid New England  Patriots fan who also enjoyed watching Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy.

Throughout many years Danny and Chicki would entertain friends and family playing card games. They could be found on the dance floor at any gathering. They loved to dance.

Visiting hours will be held on Monday, August 28, 2023 from 3 to 6pm in the chapel of the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary’s Square) Taunton.

Additional parking with handicap access is located on the North side of the funeral home.

Interment will be held privately.

Immediately following visiting hours, Dan’s family extends a cordial invitation to join them at the Lafayette Club 18 Lakeview Avenue, Taunton.
