Kenneth W. Rose

Kenneth W. Rose, age 82, passed away peacefully on September 9, 2023.  Born in Taunton, Kenneth was the beloved son of the late Albert and Alveda (Diaz) Rose. 

Before retiring, Kenneth worked as a forklift operator for most of his life, employed with J. Baker/Casual Male, Jordan’s Furniture, Chadwicks, and Morse Shoe.

Ken was a generous man, often giving his time to people in need. He was active in his parish and helped others whenever he could, working with hospice, visiting nursing homes and volunteering for the Southcoast VNA and the Marian Manor Nursing Home.  Ken enjoyed vacations in the White Mountains of New Hampshire, trips to Maine, and visiting various churches, parishes, and shrines across New England.  He liked going on bike rides, especially on the Cape Cod Rail Trail and along the Cape Cod Canal.  He loved playing games with family and treasured spending time with his three grandchildren.

Ken is predeceased by his parents Albert and Alveda (Diaz), his first wife Phyllis (Stringer), his son Brian, his brother James, his brother Allen, and his sister Janis Hartnett. Ken is survived by his son, David and his wife Monique of Millbury, MA and their children Lauren, Matthew and Jacob, his sister Marilyn Walker of Raleigh, NC, his former wife, Elizabeth Franco Rose of North Easton, MA and her daughters.

Family and friends are invited to gather for his funeral with visitation, which will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2023 at 9:30am at Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary’s Square) Taunton, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am in Holy Family Church Middleboro Avenue in East Taunton.

Interment will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery.
