Julio E. Galindez

Julio E. Galindez, age 73 of Taunton, passed away on November 5, 2023 at his home peacefully surrounded by his family.

He was the husband of Carmen (Sanchez) Galindez.

Born in Manati, Puerto Rico, the son of the late Emiliano and Luz (Sanchez) Burgos.

Before retiring, Mr. Galindez was employed with Silver City Aluminum Company for many years.

He enjoyed church activities with the Youth groups, dancing, carpentry, playing jokes on people, but most of all spending time with his family and close friends.

Besides his beloved wife Carmen of over 51 years, he is survived by his daughter Sandra Pizarro, grandchildren; Abel Pizarro, Maribel Pizarro, godson; Luis Rodriguez, goddaughters; Elizabeth Marrero, Jeanet Hernandez, nieces; Doris Melendez, Regina Vargas, nephews; Stephen Galindez, Alexander Galindez, long-time friend Nelson Gandia and his beloved dogs Brownie and Camilla Marie. He was the brother of the late Emiliano Galindez, Jr. and stepson of the late Francisco Burgos.

Julio’s funeral with visitation will be held on Thursday, November 9, 2023 at 9am from the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary’s Square) Taunton, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to begin at Noon in Saint Anthony Church, School Street, Taunton.

Interment will follow in Mayflower Hill Cemetery.
