José S. Henriques

TAUNTON-  José S. Henriques, age 72, of Taunton, passed away on Monday, October 23, 2023, at Morton Hospital, with his loving wife of 48 years by his side. He was the dear husband to Maria (Brum) Henriques.

Born in Feteira, Faial, Azores, José was one of two children and the only son born to the late  José and Maria (Silveira) Henriques. He was raised in the Azores and was a veteran of the Portuguese Army, where he saw frontline action in Africa.

A hardworking man with a great work ethic, José  worked for many years as a Packer with Princess House, Incorporated. He also spent time employed as a Machine Operator for Quadgraphics.

In his spare time,  José enjoyed tinkering around with his CV radios and going saltwater fishing. Above all, he was most happy when he was in the presence of his family. 

 José was the proud and cherished father to the late José Henriques, who passed away on February 4, 2020. He was also the brother to the late Idilina Lima.

  
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his niece, nephew, and extended family members.

José’s funeral with visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 31, 2023, at 8:30 am from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary’s Square) Taunton, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am, in Saint Anthony Church, School Street, Taunton. Interment will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery.
