Joan (Gracia) Hickey

Joan (Gracia) Hickey, age 86 of Taunton, passed away on April 10, 2024 at Morton Hospital.

She was the beloved wife of the late John M. Hickey who passed in 2011.

Born in Dighton, Joan was the beloved daughter of the late John and Albina (Osenkowski) Gracia.

Before retiring, Joan and her late husband were the owners and operators of John’s TV & Appliance.

She was a talented artist and loved sketching, oil painting, decorative painting, photography and knitting and shared her love of creativity and imagination byteaching decorative painting. She was a member of the Taunton Art Association for many years and participated in their annual art festival in various capacities and submitted works in both the painting and photography categories. In her younger years, she loved participating in and selling her painted items at craft fairs around the region.

Joan is survived by her loving children; John Hickey and wife Therese of East Taunton and Donna Hickey ofSouth Plymouth, grandmother of Kimberly Lynn Hickey and the late Samantha Jean Hickey.

Joan was the sister of the late James Gracia of Taunton.

Mrs. Hickey’s funeral with visitation will be held onTuesday, April 16, 2024 at 12 noon with a funeral service beginning at 1pm in the Chapel of the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary’s Square) Taunton.

Interment will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery.
