Jaime Soares

Jaime Soares, age 69 of Taunton, passed away on May 2, 2023 at Morton Hospital with his loving wife Delia by his side.

Jaime was the beloved husband of Delia (Pimentel) Soares.

Born in Sao Miguel, Azores, Mr. Soares was the son of the late Jaime and Maria (Pereira) Soares.

Before his retirement, Jaime was employed with Renie Curtains factory.

Mr. Soares enjoyed being home with his family and thoroughly liked gardening, landscaping, cooking and in recent years, surfing the internet. He was a good man with a big heart of gold and was one of the kindest souls you would meet. Had an incredible work ethic to the extent of even having 3 jobs at 1 time just to make ends meet. He also loved soccer and was a big fan of the portuguese team, Benfica. He was born in Portugal but moved to the USA in 1977 and had naturalized citizenship in the mid 1990's. He was very proud of his Portuguese heritage but loved the United States as his country.

Besides his wife Delia of over 45 years, he is survived by his loving sons; Jason Soares and Jeff Soares both of Taunton. Jaime was also the brother of Jorge Soares, Eduarda Soares both of Taunton, Frank Soares, Gilbert Soares, Isaura Medeiros, Ana Pereira all of Canada and Manuela Santos of Sao Miguel. He was also the brother of the late David Soares.

Jaime’s funeral will be held on Monday, May 8, 2023 at 8:45am from the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary’s Square) Taunton, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in Saint Andrew the Apostle Church Kilmer Ave, Taunton.

Interment will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery.

Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, May 7th from 2 to 5pm in the Silva Funeral Home. Additional parking with handicap access is located on the North side of the funeral home.
