Gilberto V. Justiniano “Chiquitin” age 90, of Taunton, passed away on Thursday, April 28, 2022, at Morton Hospital.
Born in Maricao, Puerto Rico, he was the son of the late Porfirio and Monserrate Vega.
He worked for the City of Taunton Parks and Recreation Department for over 40 years before retiring.
Chiquitin loved playing his mandolin guitar and played in a band at various local clubs over the years. He enjoyed working on his car and was a “Jack of all trades” and could fix anything.
He leaves his partner of over 30 years, Marjorie “Margie” Baker, of Taunton; his five loving children, Melody Traynor, of Whitman, Ricardo Justiniano, of Rockland, Alison Acevedo, of Fall River, Jon Justiniano, of Rockland, and Benjamin Justiniano-Baker, of Taunton; three sisters, Nilda, Nancy, and Olga; five grandchildren, Rachel Clancy, Monique Schlieff, Minnie Traynor, Jessica Justiniano, and William Traynor, and his wife, Jaclyn; and many great grandchildren.
His funeral with visitation will be held on Friday, May 13, 2022, from 9:00 to 11:00 am, with a funeral service beginning at 11:00 am, in the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton (at Saint Mary’s Square)
Additional parking with handicap access is located on the North side of the funeral home.
Interment will follow in Mayflower Hill Cemetery.
