George Earl Simcock, age 91, passed away on February 5, 2020 and his beloved wife Theresa (Morriss) Simcock age 93, passed away on May 19, 2023 both in the comfort of their home with loving family members by their side. They were married for over 66 years at the time of George’s passing.
George was born in Swansea, a son of the late Earl and Edith (Armitage) Simcock. Mr. Simcock worked on his families farm, Simcock Bros. Dairy Farm and later became a maintenance supervisor for over 10 years, retiring in 1992 from J.J. Taylor Distributing Company.
His wife Theresa was born in Fall River, the daughter of the late Manuel Jr. and Margaret (Barnes) Morriss.
Before retirement, Mrs. Simcock was employed with Aetna Insurance.
They both enjoyed spending time with their family and friends, gardening, taking care of their beloved animals and camping.
Mr. & Mrs. Simcock are survived by their loving children, David Simcock, and his wife Deborah of Swansea and Karen Coutu and her husband James of Somerset. Grandparents of David Simcock, and Adam Simcock, great-grandparents of Madilyn and Olivia Simcock. George was also the brother of Eunice Burke and the late A. Bruce Simcock.
A Mass of Christian Burial for both George and Theresa will be held on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at 10am in Saint Patrick Church 306 South Street, Somerset. Relatives and friends may meet directly at the church at 9:45am.
Their Interment will be held privately in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Swansea.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts made to: Southcoast Hospice in both George and Theresa’s memory, would be deeply appreciated.
