Frederick L. Gonsalves

Frederick L. Gonsalves, age 81 of Taunton passed away on April 17, 2023 at Morton Hospital.

He was the husband of Lillian ( Maloney ) Gonsalves.

Born in Taunton, he was the son of the late Camelo and Amelia (Correia) Gonsalves.

Fred loved gardening and fishing. He took pride in his home and was always on the go making home improvements, fixing any and everything he could. He loved watching his New England sports teams and was famous for his amazing pancakes. Fred enjoyed playing in the yard with his grandchild when they were little and was always there when you needed him. His greatest love was being surrounded by his family. 

Besides his beloved wife Lillian of 51 years, he is survived by his children; James Gonsalves and his husband James Bowman, Scott Gonsalves, Cathy Gonsalves and her fiancé Manny Pires, grandchildren; Kristopher Menard, Jr., Josef Menard and Lucas Martins. He was also the brother of George Gonsalves and the late Philip Correia.

Frederick’s funeral will be held on Monday, April 24, 2023 at 10:00am from the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary’s Square) Taunton, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30am in Holy Family Church, East Taunton.

Interment will follow in Cedar Knoll Cemetery, East Taunton.

Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, April 23, 2023 from 1 to 3pm in the Silva Funeral Home.
