Eugenio Paiva

Eugenio Paiva, age 92, of Taunton, passed away peacefully on the morning of Sunday, August 13, 2023, at Life Care Center of Raynham. He was the loving and devoted husband to Isabel (Rego) Paiva.

Born in Sao Miguel, Azores, Eugenio was one of five children born to the late Manuel and Maria A. (Pereira) Paiva. He was a veteran of the Portuguese Army.

A hard-working man with an eye for detail and craftsmanship, Eugenio worked for many years as a self-employed Cabinet Maker. Prior to owning his business, he worked for Corcoran Shoe Company in Stoughton.

Eugenio was a faithful parishioner of St. Anthony Church in Taunton.

Besides his wife Isabel of over 61 years, Eugenio is survived by his proud and cherished daughter: Elizabeth Paiva of Taunton. He was the brother of Mary Leite of Taunton, and the brother of the late Mario Paiva, Manuel Paiva, Deolinda deMelo, Joana Silva and Estrela Paiva.  

Mr. Paiva’s funeral will be held on Friday, August 18, 2023 at 8:30 am from the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary’s Square) Taunton, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in Saint Anthony Church, School Street, Taunton. Interment will follow at Saint Joseph Cemetery.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, August 17th from 4 to 7pm in the Silva Funeral Home.
