Elsie (Vaz) Ducharme, 89 of Taunton, passed away on Monday May 2, 2022.
She was the beloved wife of the late Raymond J. Ducharme.
Elsie was born in Taunton, the daughter of the late Frank and Bella (Berthao) Vaz.
Before retiring, Elsie was employed as a para-professional in the Taunton Public School system working at Martin School and Bennett school, she was also employed as a seamstress and hat maker for the Children’s shop.
She enjoyed gardening, and planting many flowers, she was in love with her Christmas Cactus plant and her Mimosa trees and always enjoyed the view from her sunroom of her birch tree.
Elsie is survived by her loving children; Marie Pawlowski and her husband Stanley, Theresa Hebert and her husband Glen and Raymond Ducharme and his wife Lynne all of Taunton. She is survived by one brother Alfred Vaz of Attleboro, MA., brother-in-law; Paul Ducharme sister-in-laws; Margaret (Peggy) Ducharme and Jeanette Ducharme. She is predeceased by her siblings Bella Vaz Medeiros, Frank Vaz, Joseph Vaz, Antonio Vaz & Mary Lafferty, brother-in-laws; Gerard Ducharme, Roland Ducharme, Richard Ducharme, Norman Ducharme, sister-in-laws; Yvette Conaty, Marion Davis and Theresa Gomes. She was the grandmother of 8 – Nathan Pawlowski, Nicholas Pawlowski, Paul Pawlowski, Alex Hebert, Brent Hebert, Arielle Dennis, Rachel Davis & Lydia Ducharme. She is a great-grandmother to 15. She leaves behind many nieces and nephews and lots of treasured friends.
Elsie’s funeral with visitation will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2022 at 8 am from the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary’s Square) Taunton, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in Saint Anthony Church School St, Taunton. Interment will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery.
