Duarte M. Raposo

Duarte M. Raposo, age 88 of Taunton, passed away on August 21, 2023 at Marian Manor.

He was the beloved husband of Cisaltina (Macedo) Raposo.

Born in Sao Miguel, Acores, Duarte was the son of the late Antonio and Gilda (Ponte) Raposo.

Before retiring, Mr. Raposo was employed with Reed & Barton as a machine operator for many years.

He enjoyed traveling to the Acores, cherished time spent with his family and would help anyone in need.

Besides his beloved wife Cisaltina of over 63 years, he is survived by his loving daughters, Anna Moniz and Lillian Moniz both of Taunton, grandfather of Natalie Moniz and Lisa Hunter, great-grandfather of Julian Williams. Mr. Raposo was also the brother of Maria dos Anjos Moniz of Brockton and brother of the late Joao Raposo.

Duarte’s funeral will be held on Friday, August 25, 2023 at 10am from the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary’s Square) Taunton, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 am in saint Anthony Church School Street, Taunton.

Interment will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, August 24th from 4 to 7pm in the Silva Funeral Home.
