In Loving Memory of Autilio "Arthur" DaRosa
Autilio “Arthur” DaRosa, age 81 of Taunton, passed away on October 31, 2023 at his residence with his loving family by his side. Autilio was a beloved family man who moved to the United States as a young man and built a successful life as a dedicated business owner and father and stepfather to a large and lively family.
Born to the late Manuel and Laura (Balla) DaRosa, he was the devoted husband of Maria (Rodrigues) DaRosa and the late Diane (McIntyre) DaRosa.
Before retiring, Autilio was the long-time owner and operator of DaRosa Machinery in Southwick, MA, where he poured his passion and hard work into the business he established and ran with the greatest pride.
Autilio found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards, and performing magic tricks. However, the greatest source of happiness in his life was the time he spent with his family and beloved dog Teddy, sharing stories, laughter, and creating cherished memories.
Autilio leaves behind his beloved wife Maria with whom he shared over 31 years of marriage, and is survived by three of his loving children: Dale DaRosa and wife Heather, Cheryl DaRosa, and Darlene Pereira. In addition, Autilio leaves behind five loving step-children: Louis Madeira and wife Amy; Bobby Madeira and wife Tiffany; Steven Madeira and wife Ligia; Kevin Madeira and wife Kristen; Jennifer Hedges and husband Jason. He was father to the deeply-missed late David DaRosa.
Autilio was the proud grandfather of Elianna, Jessica, Lindsey, Diane, Michael, Brianna, Carlos, Nick, Adam, Jared, Liam, Isabella, Caleb, Lucius, Allie, Nicholas, Olivia, Ava, Ashton, Taylor, and great-grandfather of Crosby. He was predeceased by his grandson, Cody. Autilio was the beloved brother of Neiva Socorro, Aristides DaRosa, Alcides Fortes, Enrique Fortes, Maria DaSilva, Maria Laura Molina, and Adelino DaRosa.

Autilio’s funeral will be held on Monday, November 6, 2023 at 8:30 am from the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary’s Square) Taunton, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in Saint Anthony Church School Street, Taunton.
Interment will follow in Southwick Cemetery, Southwick, MA. Family and close friends are welcome to attend the burial.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, November 5th from 2pm to 5pm in the Silva Funeral Home. Additional parking with handicap access is located on the North side of the funeral home.
