Alfred Costa Jr., age 75 of Dighton, passed away on November 23, 2021 at Brigham and Women’s Hospital.
He was the husband of Susan (Figueiredo) Costa.
Born in Taunton, he was the son of the late Alfred Sr., and Mary (Martin) Costa.
He served in the US Army. After his service in the Army he worked for Prudential Insurance for many years. He started Costa Insurance in 1982. His hard work and long hours were always with his family in mind. Al most enjoyed spending time with family at his waterfront summer home in Jefferson Shores. He loved the enjoyment that everyone had in sharing the beach and ocean. He welcomed one and all.
Besides his loving wife Susan he is survived by his children; Michael Costa and wife Mary Ellen, Christina Weichel, Angela Yelle and her longtime companion Thomas Noel, Amanda Costa and stepchildren Marie Williams, Edward Travers, III and wife Erin, Sisters; Eileen Silvia, Linda Allen and husband Richard, Cheryl Clifford and husband Michael, Grandchildren; Michelle Molina and husband Tony, Nicholas Costa and wife Heather, Zachery Weichel, Timothy Costa, Jeremy Yelle, Jason Yelle, Maria Weichel, Trinity Williams, Eddy Travers IV, Emmett Travers, Ethan Travers, great grandchildren; Miah, Alena, Violet and Michael. He also leaves his nephews; James Silvia, Steven Silvia, Alexander Clifford, Kevin Clifford and niece Ann Mollicone. In laws Paulette and Marc Lacroix, Allen and Sharon Figueiredo, and Donna Figueiredo.
Al’s funeral will be held on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at 8:30 am from the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary’s Square) Taunton, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in Saint Nicholas of Myra Church, Dighton.
Interment will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery.
Visiting hours will be held in the Silva Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 from 5 to 8pm.
Additional parking with handicap access is located on the North side of the Funeral Home.
