Agnes Souza

Agnes (Arruda) Souza, age 89, passed away on Saturday, August 26, 2023 at Morton Hospital.

She was the wife of the late John Souza and the long-time companion of the late Ronald Souza.

Born in New Bedford, MA, she was the daughter of the late Antone and Maria (Lima) Arruda.

Mrs. Souza was a graduate of New Bedford High School and St. Anne’s Hospital School of Nursing. Before her retirement she was employed with Taunton State Hospital as a Registered Nurse for many years.

She was a devoted Catholic and longtime parishioner of Holy Family Church.

Agnes is survived by her loving nieces; Linda Henriques and her husband Dave and Patricia Corriveau. She also leaves several great nieces and nephews.

Agne’s funeral with visitation will be held on Friday, September 1, 2023 at 9:00am from the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary’s Square) Taunton, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30am in Holy Family Church 372 Middleboro Avenue, East Taunton.

Interment will follow in Westville Cemetery Cohannet Street, Taunton.

Additional parking with handicap access is located on the North side of the funeral home.
