Adrian J. "Rudy" Arruda

Adrian J. “Rudy” Arruda, age 78 of Raynham, passed away on May 14, 2022 at Rhode Island Hospital.

He was the husband of Joanne (White) Arruda.

Born in Taunton, he was the son of the late Antone and Josephine (Kuczek) Arruda.  Mr. Arruda was raised and educated in Taunton and a graduate of Taunton High School Class of 1961.  Rudy lived a lifetime on his beloved farm in Raynham.  He worked at Chickering Trucking, Rockland Industries, then as owner operator of Riverview Farms where he was an independent lead trucker at Bridgewater Raynham Sand and Stone, he took great pride working alongside his son Joe and grandsons, Rudy equally enjoyed spending late nights and long weekends in the hayfields with his son Tony and grandchildren.

Rudy was a man of routine, he greeted his dog, made coffee for his wife Joanne, started his truck at 4:50am, called his daughter Karen to make sure she was up, ate his breakfast and off to work he went where he had to be first In line!  He would wash his truck every Sunday and enjoyed telling people how they could do it a little bit better and faster. 

Besides his beloved wife Joanne of 60 years, he is survived by his children; Antone Arruda and partner Brook Beranger, Joseph Arruda and partner Michelle Conley, Karen (Arruda) Daley, grandchildren; Joseph Arruda and wife Kelsey, Brandon Arruda and wife Haley, AJ Arruda, Benjamin Arruda, Blake Starratt and Ross Daley. He was the father of the late Mary-Lou Arruda and brother of the late Robert Arruda, Sr. and Anthony “BZ” Arruda.

Mr. Arruda’s funeral will be held on Friday, May 20, 2022 at 8:30 am with a funeral home service to begin at 10am in the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary’s Square) Taunton.

Interment will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, May 19th from 4-7pm in the Silva Funeral Home.

Additional parking with handicap access is located on the North side of the funeral home.
